Typography in M3 Expressive is editorial and adaptive.

Principles

1. Adaptive Type Scale: Text should resize based on screen density and user scaling.
2. Editorial Emphasis: Use large, bold headlines (displayLarge) for hero moments.
3. Variable Fonts: Prefer fonts like Google Sans or Roboto Flex for fine-grained weight control.
4. Information Density: Use bodyLarge for readability in expressive containers; avoid cramped text.

Standards

• Headlines: Use displayMedium or headlineLarge for primary page headers.
• Labels: Use labelLarge with increased letter spacing for action buttons.
• Line Height: Increase line height (1.2x - 1.5x) for expressive body text to feel premium.
